Leucorrhoea is a condition found in women in which there is a whitish discharge from the vagina. It may be viscid, thick and foul smelling. Leucorrhoea is abnormal condition of reproductive organs in women.

Recent studies showed that secretions of white discharge from the uterus and the upper part of the vagina slowly flow down and is reabsorbed in the lower parts of the vagina. Causes And Symptoms of Leucorrhoea

Leucorrhoea is caused by the presence of infection in any of the tissues and due to variety of other factors. The common causes can be hormonal and metabolic disorders.

AYURVEDA believes that the vitiation of kapha can cause leucorrhoea. It mainly occurs in emaciated, weak and anaemic women. It can also be caused due to inflammation of the womb displacement of the uterus, following child birth, or gonorrhea. In young ladies it can be caused due to infection, thread worms and lack of cleanliness. The women during whitish discharge there feel weak and even pain in the calves and the lumbar region. In chronic conditions leucorrhoea can cause irritability. Due to this black patches can form under the eyes in the patients.
